Dreary day

Orchid Chronicles:

The Lilac Ladies were staring out the Center's kitchen window in moody contemplation this morning. I didn't interrupt, but quietly went about making some tea. I waited awhile then asked the Ladies if they would like some ...tea too. "Yes, we would love some tea," they said, and became quiet again. As I served the tea, the Oldest of the blooms said (still looking out the window), "Dreary is a good word for the outside cold. How long do we have to wait for 'dreary' to go away?" I giggled, thinking..(And she's the one with all the future telling abilities?), then said, "Oh soon enough I suppose. We must be patient with the seasons." We finished drinking tea together...no more conversation, except the Ladies, in distant thought, said, "The seasons must be far, far, away like"...and then startled..... changed thoughts ......and started chatting with Char.
Hummmmmm? That was weird. I'll keep listening. It may take '3 cups of tea', but I'll get to the bottom of the latest Center mystery.
